Soho Brasília Restaurant

Soho Brasília Restaurant

The most influential factor for the design of Soho Restaurant in Brasília, in the Pontão Lago Sul entertainment center, was its very location. With this in mind, we concentrated in creating a space that, despite its subtle set up, could be fully connected with the natural landscape of Paranoá Lake, which should remain as a protagonist.

The available lot was flat and the whole program should fit in only one block. Thus, our solution was to create a basement for the services and save the ground floor for the dining room.

The idea was to create a fluid space for the customers, with an open connection to the landscape, freeing as much space as possible for contemplation of the view and nature.

The façade that contains the entrance of the restaurant is marked by a set of planes and openings of different geometric shapes. Another highlight at the entrance are Bel Borba’s sculptures, which emphasizing the unique identity of Soho’s cuisine.

The restaurant can accommodate 200 patrons and possesses a 600 square meter built area, which encompasses a veranda, a dining room, a space for events, a basement, a ground floor, a mezzanine, a kitchen and a service area. The sunken bar does not obstruct the view of the surroundings.

The project was executed with a steel structure and architectural concrete, in order to bestow lightness to the set.

The search for simplicity and an informal atmosphere led to the use of materials such as architectural concrete for the walls, polished concrete for the floors, steel for the structure and wood for the ceiling.
